Curb Appeal Basics

When I decided that I was going to put my house on the market, I knew that I would have to do some renovating first. The house was a good, solid structure, but I hadn’t kept up the outside of it as well as my husband did before he passed away. I knew that I would need curb appeal if I wanted the place to sell quickly. I had my yard landscaped, my home exterior repainted, and my driveway replaced before putting the home on the market. It cost me a bit of money, but it was worth it – the house sold quickly and I was able to move into my brand new condo – much less maintenance work for me. I started this blog about curb appeal, to help others learn how to move their homes quickly too.

How To Prevent Mice From Entering The Home

Real Estate Blog

When it comes to pests in your home, there are few that are more annoying than mice. Mice can get into your home and get into your pantries and contaminate your food. They carry diseases with them that can make people very sick. They can carry Hantavirus, Lyme disease, and many other illnesses that can be very serious. If you run across mice in your home, you will want to get rid of them as quickly as possible so that they have less time to contaminate your home. If you take the proper precautions, you can prevent mice from ever coming into your home.

Prevention. When it comes to preventing mice from coming into your home, there are a couple different things that you will want to do. A professional pest service company can also assist in preventing these mice from entering your home.

  1. Cleaning. One of the best things that you can do to keep mice out of your home is to not give them a reason to be there. When your counters and floors are dirty and full of food, mice will come in. Make sure your home is clean and free from these sources of food. You will also want to seal any food you have in plastic containers so that mice are not able to get into them.

  2. Sealing Entrances. Something else that you will want to do is seal any potential entrances where mice could enter. A professional pest control company will be able to come and examine the exterior of your home. Cracks, crevices, holes where pipes and other utilities enter the home are all areas where a mouse could potentially enter. These areas can be sealed so that mice are not able to get into the home.

  3. Electronic Deterrents. There are now devices that will help to deter mice from coming into your home. These electronic devices emit a noise that sounds like a jackhammer to the mice and keeps them from coming into your home. Humans and other pets are not able to hear this noise but the mice are and do not like it.

The best way to take care of a mouse problem is to prevent it from happening in the first place. Of course, if you already have a problem, a pest control company will be able to help you as well. For more tips, contact a company like Academy Pest Control Ltd.
